The starting point of the initiative of Memorial Justice Labour Grandedo Rio South, in conjunction with other agencies and partners, had, besides the map, holding a book fair. Throughout Saturday about 20 stalls together works from various bookstores and publishers based in the neighborhood.
Opening the event, the president of the Regional Labor Court, Judge John Ghisleni Son, said it was a fair return for a Good End, which since 2008 hosts this sector of the Court. The mention of the neighborhood also set the tone for the balance of the retired Chief Judge Magda Biavaschi Barros, a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Memorial and that highlighted the cultural and political ferment that characterizes the area.
The TRT-server RS Walter Oliveira used the word to present the honoree of the day: Bookseller Edgardo Xavier, one of the founders of the Book Fair of Porto Alegre, and long, the owner of Leonardo da Vinci Library. One example is the Museum of History of Medicine, RS (MUHM) which, apart from partner, offered a workshop on conservation and preservation of books. The museum's director, Éverton Quevedo, explains that the activity is geared to children who visit MUHM and offers tips on hygiene and preservation of books. "With the workshop, working notions as respect for property and assets: a map of the proposed Cultural Corridor Good End," he said. Schmidt also said that the Memorial of the Labour Court will devise a future cultural center with auditorium and rooms for exhibitions and workshops.
The initiative of the event was also highlighted by Chef Francesco Rosito - Italian cooking instructor, he said, "the neighborhood was in need of a cultural event that highlights the libraries and museums, little known." According Rosito the Good End focuses not just bookstores, but also of ethnic associations, like the Italian and Israeli Society. "This proves that multiculturalism represents the neighborhood," he added.
