Hundreds of people attended the morning of June 20th of the 17th Walk for Life, sponsored by the City Council on Narcotic Drugs (Comen), together with the Municipal Health Service (SMS). The event was part celebration of the Gaucho of the Week for the Prevention of Drug Abuse.
Accompanied by the band of the Municipal School of Elementary Education Decio Martins Costa, participants in the Open School Project MEC / UNESCO / Expeditionary Smed of the monument, distributing information on the prevention of drug use at school, such as marijuana, crack and LSD, among other . The event also included cultural activities and service and the support of Procempa that put computers with Internet access available to visitors to the stalls in the park.
The President of the Comen, Robert Fanganito said that responsibility is not just the government. "We must strengthen the life and community. Thus, we must form a social network, where the church, associations and all local councils to join in solidarity to address the current
drug problems, "he stressed.
The Municipal Secretary of Health, Carlos Henrique Casartelli, also spoke of the importance of the whole society to work not only in dealing with drugs, but also in prevention and rehabilitation of drug users. He also announced that the city will regulate the Municipal Fund Law on Narcotic Drugs to acquire more resources, through donations or purchase of goods dealers, seeking new strategies to combat drugs.
