A Chinese Tale (Un Cuento Chino, 2011, Argentina)
A film that proves the current level of quality of Argentine cinema, which has always had great production, but recently received greater emphasis and distribution in Brazil after the great victory at the box office and The Secret Of Your Eyes (Secret of El sus Ojos, 2009) in category of best foreign film in the Oscars. However different in content that are both have the same country of origin, refining and actor in the lead role, Ricardo Darín continually surpassing it proved to be one of the best nowadays.
It is always complicated the task of trying to balance drama and humor, are almost opposite concepts. A possibly sacrifices the integrity of the other, so many comedies end up being shallow and insipid many dramas. The mastery of the film is precisely the connection that makes the two through the theme of the story, continually relating the absurdities of life chances. Many scenes with comedy content on the surface and at depth. Darín and Ignacio Huang able to achieve a gentle humor and never force anything at the hearing despite the wacky plot that could easily become esculachado. The relationship is formed between the two it is believed the same way that it is unlikely.
Recommended for any type of audience, a rare example of accessibility and depth. The Brazilian audience deserves praise because it does not waste this great opportunity to witness another Argentine film of such quality, possibly allowing even more in future films chance to gain national distribution. Highlights also include Storm, excellent Brazilian short film in stop motion present in some sessions.
